Trying regional dishes is an obligatory part of every trip.

Now, when I host foreigners, I have the opportunity to present them our cuisine and meals that we often eat in Poland. Traditional cuisine of Poland is so tasty, that you won’t be able to resist it, and it doesn’t need to be a real calory bomb.

Famous and delicious!

The traditional cuisine of Poland is rich in meat dishes prepared in various ways. I recommend particulary dishes such as stew, pork chop, dumplings and stuffed cabbage. Traditional polish food is also famous for its freshly baked breads and delicious sausages.

The secret of the spices?

The basic ingredients used in Polish cuisine are: sauerkraut, beets, cucumbers (pickles and gherkins), sour cream, kohlrabi, mushrooms, different types of sausages. Dishes owe their unique flavor requiring the right herbs and spices such as: marjoram, dill, cumin, parsley and pepper. The secret of tasty dish may lie in the unique combination of spices.

The cuisine of Poland also drew a lot of food from neighboring nations; we use also many recipes from Jewish cuisine. Polish cooking is constantly enriched with new flavors, sometimes even exotic, for example: rose petals, nuts, raisins, figs and almonds.
